St. Lawrence School
Parent Newsletter
May 26, 2010

I cannot believe that this is the last newsletter for this year. Thank you all so much for your help and support during this past school year. St. Lawrence School would not be the wonderful place that it is without all that you do for our school!

Our SLS Children’s Choir concert is tonight at 6:30 PM. The place has been changed to the cafeteria because there is air conditioning there. I hope to see you all there.

Tomorrow your child will bring home a packet of materials to work on over the summer. Please have your child do a page or two a day starting at the beginning of July. Studies show that children forget a portion of what they have learned over the summer. This will help keep them up to speed and be ready for next year.

Tomorrow we will be passing out the school yearbooks. If you did not order one and would like to purchase one, please send a check in the amount of $15.00 made out to St. Lawrence School. We have a very limited number of extras.

Tomorrow is the last day for your child to wear the school uniform.

Friday is Casual Day for food.

There is no school on Monday in honor of Memorial Day.

Tuesday is Field Day. Your child should wear his/her gym uniform and tennis shoes to school on Monday. Some of the field day events involve water, so please also send a change of clothes. There will be no school lunch served on this day. We will be picnicking, so please send a sack lunch. Milk will be available.

Wednesday is our last day of school. We will meet at the Big Church for mass and then Fr. Dennis will hand out the awards and report cards and then your children will be dismissed to go home. If you are not staying, please be back by about 9:45 to pick up your child. Your child may wear “Sunday Best.” This means no shorts, no jeans, tank tops, etc.

Have a wonderful summer. I look forward to seeing you in the fall!
