St. Lawrence PTO Meeting March 3rd, 2010
I. Opening Prayer
II.Officers Report 1. Secretary’s minutes from January 28th meeting read and approved 2. Treasurers report distributed to all present
III.Teacher Appreciation Week 1. We need a few volunteers to coordinate and execute Teacher Appreciation Week 2. It was asked that special consideration is paid to a few teachers who have more than 30 years of service to our students!
IV.Marketing opportunities 1. 3 billboards advertising St. Lawrence will be up this week, one near Blockbuster, Meijer and the Tillotson railroad tracks. 3. Great Deals Magazine V. Fundraisers 1. Indianapolis Motor Speedway 500 race has been eliminated from fundraising opps due to the amount of time and volunteers needed 2. Dinner at Applebee’s- vouchers turned in at Applebee’s on a specific week day will donate a percent of profit back to school tabled till next fall 3. Clancy’s carwash- Mid April 25$ gift cards, we have 100 to sell, each card earns a $12.50 profit for school, class contest discussed 4. Acquire the Fire March 12 -13 still need volunteers Fri 4:30 to 10 pm Saturday three shifts need filled 8am to 12:30, 12:30 to 5pm and 5 to 10 pm three to four per shift 5. KOC Dinner- May 7th, Chicken and noodles, we need cooks for pre dinner prep and volunteers to work dinner 6. Golf outing- May 22 at Crestview cost will be 180.00$ per team, we need teams and volunteers, cash prizes, food will be decided at later time, 9am start 7. PTO summer carwash- possible dates June 5th and August 7th, will discuss at a later meeting *The BSU football and basketball games have netted St. Lawrence over $1200.00! Thank your to all who have donated their time!
VI. Fall Festival 1. October 22nd and 23rd 2. Theme: Pirates! 3. Chairpersons are needed for Auction and Snack Room all others seem to be secure 4. Raffle ticket sales will begin the first week of the 2010-2011 school year 5. Ad package offers will be sent to businesses VII 1.Plaque for BSU Accounting fraternity- A request for up to 50$ was received to purchase a plaque for the BSU students whom helped us at the BSU basketball games, voted and approved. Thank you to Justin Proctor and his “brothers” 2. Harmony software- Passwords have been distributed to all parents, software is working great with the exception of the email option, fix is in the works. 3. Movie Night- our long time movie night coordinator Karen Gaither is in need of a replacement. Please contact the office if you would like to take over! Also, the popcorn maker is in need of repair and a shorter cart…this will be assessed and discussed further. 4. PTO officers for the 2010-2011 school year need to be nominated at the April meeting; voting will take place at the May meeting.
