Our school Religion Fair was held on Monday. First place went to Pre-School, second to Grade Two, and third to Grade Four. All the students did a great job. The displays will be up until Friday.

We have had several students out the past few weeks. Please be sure that your child is fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. Also, please check your contact information on Harmony and update it if necessary. If your child becomes ill at school we must be able to contact you.

Don’t forget that registration for next year will be held on May 9th and 10th.

The PTO and Student Council are sponsoring a dinner and Talent Show on Friday at the Knights of Columbus. The dinner will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and the Talent Show will begin at 7:00 PM. This will be a fun evening for all.

The second part of ISTEP will be given next week. Please be sure that your child has a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast. Also, please be sure that there are no doctor or dentist appointments scheduled during the school day next week.

St. Mary School will be offering summer school this year. A flyer with more information will come home soon.

Below is the report on yesterday’s track meet from Coach Dick:

Yesterday, the Saint Lawrence Rams held their own at the half-city track meet at Wilson Middle School. The Rams almost always placed in the top three for each event.

CJ Cope did it again in the 400, placing second. Sarah Hale placed second in the 100 meter dash.

The girl’s relay team of Gracie Evans, Sarah Hale, Maddie Evans, and Katie Hunter came in a close second place. Nancy May did a knock-out job at the 800 and the 400.

The boys’ relay of Seth Rawlings, MJ Dirksen, Onnie Adams, and Michael Biehl placed in the top four. Special thanks to MJ and Michael for helping the team out.

Onnie Adams placed first in the softball throw and Seth Rawlings placed second. Sarah Hale threw 97 feet, shattering her previous best of 72 feet.

Maddie Evans jumped nearly 11 feet in the long jump, placing in the top 3 for the girls.

We are very proud of our Rams and the hard work and dedication they show — consistently coming in the top three in the city comes with a lot of sweat, sportsmanship, and perseverance. These are all very valuable qualities these teammates show in school, at home, and on the track.

We have finished the first part of our ISTEP+ testing. The second part of the ISTEP+ test will be taken starting on April 30th.

The Third Grade will take the new IREAD 3 test next Monday. If you have a student in this grade it is very important that your child be at school on this day. Please be sure that your child has a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast.

We are getting near the end of the year. Please remember that you need to have completed 50 Tuition+ hours by the last day of school. You will be billed for any hours that are not completed at a rate of $10 per hour. If you need to complete your hours we could use some help with cleaning up our grounds now that winter is over. We also have windows that need washing. If you would like to help, please call the school office.

Mrs. Miller would like to thank everyone for all the prayers for her mother who has been in the hospital for the last few weeks. She appreciates your patience with her as she has been in and out of the office quite a bit.

The PTO is sponsoring an afternoon of family fun at the Play Station this Saturday at 2:00 PM. An email with details was sent earlier today.

The Kindergarten class is sponsoring a fish fry at the Knights of Columbus this Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Take a night off from cooking and help support our Kindergarten.

Our next PTO meeting is next Wednesday, March 21st at 6:15 PM. Childcare will be provided. Don’t forget to sign in when you come to the meeting. You receive Tuition+ hours for attending PTO meetings.

There is a special Movie Night this Friday to benefit our PE classes. The movie Night will go from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. Organized games will be played in the gym for the first hour, movie and pizza time will be from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, and then games will again be played from 7:00 – 8:00 PM. Because we are in the season of Lent we will be serving cheese pizza and we will be selling only popcorn and granola bars. The cost for the games and movie is $5.00 and for the games, movie, and pizza the cost is $7.00. Please be sure that your child is dressed in clothing and shoes appropriate for playing games. We could still use a few extra parents to help on this night. If you are able to help please let Mrs. Cope know.

We need lots of help this Saturday at our concession stand at the BSU arena. There is an event that goes all day long. We need help at three different shifts –7:00 -11:30 AM, 11:30 AM – 4:00PM, and 4:00 – 9:00 PM. We are getting close to the end of the year and there are many families who still have a lot of Tuition+ hours to get in. This is a great way to complete these hours. Please call or email Chad or Jackie Davis if you are able to help. cdavis6329@aol.com or jsdavis@bsu.edu 730-8850 or 748-2617 Thank you for your help with this!

We will be attending Mass at the Big Church next Wednesday. Please be sure to drop your child off at St. Lawrence Church at the corner of Charles and Hackley Streets by 7:50 AM.

There is a Fish Fry on Friday, March 16th to benefit our Kindergarten class. Take the night off from cooking and come out to support our Kindergarteners!

During Lent we will be having the Stations of the Cross on Thursdays at 10:00 AM. Please feel free to join us in the school chapel.
